G418 also known as G-418, G418 sulfate or Geneticin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic produced by Micromonospora rhodorangea. It acts by binding the ribosome, therefore it inhibits protein synthesis in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.
This product is supplied as a 50 mg/mL solution of G-418 sulfate in water. This product is used in the concentration range of 100 - 200 µg/mL for bacteria, or 200 – 500 µg/mL for most mammalian cells.
